Many country in the world are facing the aging problem of population now.As osteoporosis usually invades the aged people, the ranking of osteoporosis'incidence rate in the wold has gone up to the sixth. Osteoporosis is called 'silence killer'.the patient would suffer great pain and high death rate, meanwhile,the nation would have to confront the galactic medical cost.therefore,the research on the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis is becoming more and more important. Respecting review is the precondition of advanced research, this thesis reviewed the research of traditional chinese medicine about osteoporosis.It involved the name of TCM ,etiopathogenisis,pathogen- esis,rule of treatment,formula and herbs.Based on these theorise,we prefers that the basical pathogenesis of primary osteoporosis is 'spleen-kidney vacuity detriment,bowl-gastrointestinal depression and stagnation, and disharmony of qi and blood'.At the same time,we prefers the therapeutic principle of 'supplement the spleen and kidney,freeing the bowels and downbear turbidity,harmonie the qi and blood'. According to the therapeutic principle of 'supplement the spleen and kidney,freeing the bowels and downbear turbidity,harmonie the qi and blood',we lay 'the Complex Xianzhen Formula'to cure the patients suffering POP, whose type of syndrome is 'spleen-kidney vacuity detriment,bowl-gastrointestinal depression and stagnation'.We have completed the empirical study about'the Complex Xianzhen Formula',the clinical observation of it has been in progress.(there is a clinical case behind it.) The first supplement reviewed the latest advancement of the research about osteoporosis on modern medicine.
