Epimedium Total Flavonoids Of Pharmaceutical Research

The total flavones are the efficient parts come from the Herba Epimedii, which have been used to strengthen the nephridium and the bone, and drive away the rheumatism. Basing on the clinic use of them, a large amount of research work was done in the total flavones of the Herba Epimedii. Now we do more studies on the extraction, the sublimate, the isolation and the structure identification and finally establish the quality standards of the total flavones of the Herba Epimedii.At first, the extracts of the total flavones from the Herba Epimedii were studied. According to the precedent reports, during the course of extracting the total flavones, a lot of factors disturb the ratio. Through a series of tests, we found out that the best extraction condition was twenty times alcohol in volume of the raw material . extracting two times and half an hour every time.Secondly, we studied the sublimate techniques of the total flavones, and found that the best way of deposition by water is twenty times as much as the weight of the liquid, and the logical proportion of alcohol is 95 percent with 3 times as much as the vol. of the columniation.Then there is still some work was done on spectrum, assaying constituents which at last are confirmed to be epimedin A , hexandraside A, epimedin B, epimedin C and icariin respectively.Finally, quality control of the total flavones of the Herba Epimedii was also studied. Using HPLC and TLC, we limited the content of impurity, heavy metal and icariin in the specimen. It was proved that the qualities of the resources and consumable products could be perfectly controlled.
