| Qigong is not only a Chinese traditional exercising method, but also a relaxationtraining way. The research of exercising mechanism has a lot of powerful modern medicalevidences now, but still is short of proof in the Chinese medical field. This research tries toacquire some proofs on Qigong's Action in regulating the balance of body enginery, especially some direct experimental proofs on adjusting the Yin-yang Balance. At thesame time, it provides the realistic proof for the research and development of Chinesemedicine by exploring the Qigong's exercising mechanism at the aspect of psychology(character, emotion, sleep) and physiology (EEG,electromyography, skin temperature). All the 96 subjects involved, who are college students in Beijing University ofChinese Medicine, are divided into two groups by voluntary. One is the study group with50 subjects and the other is the control group with 46 subjects. The research group firstlystudy and experience the relaxing sense for five days by using the self-relaxing skill tape, and then exercising the three-thread relaxation training collectively for two months. Thecontrol group has no training. We test the change of EEG, electromyography of frontalmuscle, skin temperature, and the score difference of Five-pattern Characters Test beforeand after training, as well as the correlation of this score change and the change of EEGwere studied. Both the two groups are, in the same period, tested by the Self-RatingDepression Scale (SDS), the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and the Pittsburgh SleepQuality Index (PSQI) before and after training. The score is evaluated for the subjects intwo groups and every subject in one group. The results show some obvious changes. From the view of physiology indexobservation, we find some rising items including: the α index (especially on the leftforehead region), EEG coherence function value, EEG Synthetic Index (SI) (especially ofthe Frontal superiority), the ability of the muscle potential decrease, the skin temperatureheightening value and the ability of raising temperature. In the psychology index, thescore of SDS, SAS, PSQI has been reduced distinctly after the relaxation training whilethe control group has no obvious change. For the PSQI component, the score connectedwith sleep quality, valid sleeping time and daytime function improvement has greatlydecreased. In the Five-pattern Characters Test, the grade of the Yin-yang Balance patternrises while that of Tai-yin pattern decreased. And the changes have coherence with thechange of EEG, in which the Yin-yang Balance pattern with positive correlation while theTai-yin pattern with negative correlation. This research shows that the subjects have received good relaxing response after thethree-thread relaxation training. The affection on sleep indicates that the relaxationtraining's function not only occurred in the improving of mental status and subjectiveè‹±æ–‡æ‘˜è¦ IIIfeeling, but also with biological evidences, such as the rising of left frontal α index. Wealso find that the personality proportion of Yin-yang Balance pattern rising and the Tai-yinpattern decreasing, which shows the relaxation training has a good function onpsychological adjustment. For the viewpoint of Chinese traditional medicine is attainingthe Harmony Of Yin and Yang by regulating the Yin-yang Balance. The analysis ofcorrelation finds that there are some relativity between the change of five-patternCharacters Test and that of EEG, and between the good sleep and better emotion. As a whole, this research indicates that those good functions of relaxation training forhuman body are not single, but promote and supplement each other. |
