In this thesis,I have searched almost all of the informations exsiting in ancient books of TCM and collected the obviously concerned ones for satatistic analysis. First of all, I managed to clarify the obscure recognition of the ancient name for extrasystole caused by the long history of Traditonal Chinese Medecine(TCM). Moreover, as the causes and development of extrasystole are concerned, I put their respective data in order by gtear efforts and ananylized the vary kinds of them and the relations between them, which are arranged in order as below. Since the causes and development draw decisions to therapy of extrasystole, it's naturally necessary to collect the consistent opinions on treating this disease. And so did I.The data are collected from 58 ancient TCM books almostly covering all respestive ones I can reach for. In these books, 288 prescriptions are contracted from chapters that named by one of the extrasystole's ancient names such as Zhongzhong, Jingji, etc. The statistical respects I have decided on for analysis are as follows: the frequency used of every single herb, the total frequency of all used herbs classified by functions, the sum of rates of every single herb, the sum of rates of all used herbs classified by functions. Moreover, the statistics above are also handled with by two situations. One is that extrasystole holds the main part in a disease, and the other is that extrasystole is only refered in one disease, but not the major factor. So can I analyze the whole informations at all levels and cover all parts of data related to extrasystole. As a result, the conclusions drawn from all these are just consistent with each other that the dominant inner factors causing extrasystole are qi asthenia and yin asthenia and the most usual outer factors are pyretic pathogen, phlegm and hygrosyndrome. These results, however, can guide the clinical work to a certain degree. In addition, some experiments are implemented for Mai-an-ke-li, a recorded herb medecine used for extrasystole's treatment. The reflection factor adopted is heart-cell apoptosis rate of mice caused by lack of blood and oxygen. It's proved that this medecine can improve the survival situations of injuried cells well so as to reduce the apoptosis rate consequently.
