Objective:1. To investigate the expression of KAI1mRNA in colorectal carcinoma and the relationship with the metastasis.2. To investigate the relationship between sICAM-1 and colorectal carcinoma metastasis. Method:1. RT-PCR was used to detect KAI1mRNA expression in specimens from 8 cases normal colorectal tissues and 30 cases with colorectal cancer and adjacent colorectal tissues.2. ELISA was used to detect sICAM-1 level in specimens from 30 cases colorectal cancer patients serun and 30 cases controls .Results:1. KAI1mRNA expression rate in normal colorectal tissues had no significant difference compared with that in colorectal cancer adjacent tissues(p>0.05) and colorectal cancer without metastasis(p>0.05), had significant difference compared with that in colorectal cancer with metastasis (p<0.01).Tumor of patients with metastasis had significantly Lower KAIlmRNA expression levels than that without metastasis(p<0.01).2. Serum sICAM-1 level in colorectal cancer was significantly higher than that in control(p<0.05), that in patients without metastasis had no significant difference compared with that in control(p>0.05), that in patients with metastasis was significantly higher than that in control(p<0.01),and was significantly higher than that in patients without metastasis (p<0.05)Conclusion:1. Decreased expression of the KAIlgene may be related to metastasis in patients with colorectal cancinoma.2. sICAM-1 level may be related to metastasis in patients with colorectal cancinoma.
