| The effects of celay seed oil (CSO) on brain senility and cerebral ischemia were studied in this paper ,and their mechanism were investigated preliminarily. 1, The effects of CSO on D-galactose-induced senile animals.The protective effects of CSO on acquisition impaimient of memory in senile animals and electroshock mice were proved by the methods of step down and step through test Ihe results of biochemistry showed that the content of MDA and MAO-B activity were decreased after giving different doses of CSO in the brain of senile mice, while the activities of SOD were increased. And CSO could reduce the content of glutamic acid in liippocampus and cortex.It was testified histologically that CSO could protect the braincell. Both the occurring rate of LTP and PS amplitudes decreased on perforant path-hippocampal dentate gyms of D-gal-model rats and CSO had marked effects on these changes. In addition, the results of the spontaneous activity test and Phenobarbital sodium- induced sleeping test showed that CSO had significant effects. 2, The effect of CSO on cerebral ischemiaCSO could prolong living time of mice and improve cerebral oedema of rats in acute cerebral ischemia testTo MCAO rats, CSO could improve nervous symptom, reduce infracte weigh of brain and decrease the content of MDA in brain and glu in the hippocampus.It was showed that CSO could reduce injured degrees ofbrain and protect neurocytes in pathological histology. |
