Epileptic (EP) is a disease that commonly occurs in children, it break out occasionally and make patients unconscious . My tutor, Ma Rong Perfessjias taken a pain in many years to study the method to treat epileptic. In the end, he prepared 4he traditional Chinese medicine XiFeng capsule successifully. The medicine have been passed the clinical testify. Effective rate comes to 90%, and there are not severe side- effects. In order to use this medicine to treat patients correctly, we made the experimental study to show the mechanism of XiFeng capsule in treat epileptic.Fifty healthy Kunming kind mice were randomly divided into six groups, including three experimental groups, those administrated with three dosages XiFeng capsule-one model group (epileptogenic mice by pentylenetetrazol) ,one normal control group and one phenytoin sodium group.The NADPH-d method ABC immunohistochemical method and fluorescent method were used to show activity and the expression of protein of nitric oxide synthase(NOS),investigated the change of DNA, RNA in hippocampal subareas. The aim is to show the relationship between the Epileptic and nitric oxide(NO) and clinical mechanism of XiFeng capsule to treat epileptic.RESULTS: NADPH -d tochemical reaction: when using the three dosage group of XiFeng to treat epileptic, activity of NOS in hippocampal gyrus CA is lower when compared with the control group and much higher than that of model group (p<0.05); activity of NOS at the CA3 is higher than that of control group and model group (p<0.05); and activity of NOS in redented gyrus is lower than that of control group ,and is higher than thatof model group (p<0.05).Immunohistochemistry reaction: the activity of nNOS in when using three dosage group of XiFeng to treat epileptic, is lower than the control group ,and is higher than that of model group (p<0.05); phenytoin sodium group is higher than that of the control group and model group (p玕05); When using the three dosare XiFeng .phenytein sodium to treat epileptic, all the protein expression of nitric oxide synthase'vNOS) in redented gyrus is lower than that of the control group .and is higher than that of model group (p<0.05); Other hand, three dosage group of XiFerg, fluorescent intensity are higher than that of model group and lower than that of control group; ALL the NOS cells fiber there are growing, restoration and color become deeper in some degree.CONCLUSION Xifeng capsule there were the protective function to those epileptogenic mice by pentylenetetrazol' nerve cells. The results may be one of the mechanisms of that medicine to cure epileptic.
