Objective To study the relationship between the expression of multidrug resistance gene(MDR1mRNA),multidrug resistant-associated protein gene(MRPmRNA) and the clinical characteristics of the patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, and study influence with each other of the expression of MRPmRNA and MRPmRNA in laryngeal carcinoma tissue.Method We studied 23 specimens that were obstained from surgical samples of laryngeal carcinoma. Each specimen was stored at -80℃ until used.Disease stages were determined using the TNM classification according to UICC criteria,T1 four cases,T2 four cases, T3 ten cases,T4 five cases,N0 seventeen cases,N1 three cases,N2 three cases. The total mRNA were extracted from the tissue of laryngeal carcinoma by Trizol kit and reverse transferred to cDNA,then the aim genes were amplified by PCR. Results Product of every specimen's RT-PCR has β2-microglobulin. The positive expression rate of MDR1mRNA was 47.8 percent(11/23) in laryngeal carcinoma. The postive expression rate of MRPmRNA (T3-4)patients than that in early(T1-2) cases(P<0.05) and showed a significant correlation with metastases of cervical lymph node(P<0.01).The expression in the tissues of laryngeal carcinoma of MDR1mRNA and MRPmRNA have no influence with each other. Conclusion The positive expression of MDR1mRNA and MRPmRNA have a same rate that were 47.8 percent in laryngeal carcinoma. The positive expression of MRPmRNA showed a significant correlation with metastases of cervical lymph node and clinical TNM classification. The expression of both gene in laryngeal carcinoma have no influence with each other.
