Velopharyngeal Forming The Clinical Observation Of The Treatment Of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome

Clinical observation of palatophalyngoplasty treatment for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome Department of Otorhinolaryngology the First Affiliated Hospital of of Xinjiang Medical Universitys Postgradute Liang zhong Supervisor Su shiwu [abstractJOBGECTIVE:In order to prove further through polysomnography(PSG) and CT,that palatopharyngoplasty(PPP) treatment for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is effctive. METHODS:We have performed PPP operations on 15 OSAS patients comfirmed by PSG, with oropharyngeal constriction confirmed by CT.The patients by PPP were again examined by PSG and CT after 10 days. The lowest Sa02, apnea hypoxia index(AHI), the cross- sectional area of oropharynx were recorded and analysed. RESULTS: The lowest Sa02 improved obviously(P<0.05). The cross-sectional area enlaged evidently(P<0.05). AHI was not different(P>0.05).The subjective syndrome of 14 patients became better differently, but the improvement of the objective test was not satisfying. CONCLUSIONS: The clinical appraisal about PPP, PSG combined with oropharyngeal CT provide overall objective basis,That the narrow place is oropharynx comfirmed by CT, is chief adaptability indication. That the improvement of subjective syndrome is superior to objective test, the reason is pending further discussion. The short-term curative effect is satisfying, the long ? term cruative effect is waitted to observe fijrther.
