ABSTRACTPercutaneous internal fixation with pins or cannulated screws is an important method of treating femoral neck fracture. Because of its simple operation, slight injury and low expenditure, it has become one of the accepted operations. As it relies extremely on experience of the operator and C-arm image intensifier , percutaneous internal fixation with pins or cannulated screws is restricted in the clinical application. In order to resolve the problems mentioned above, we have devised a set of extraeorporeal model locator, which includs three parts such as model of the upper of a femur ,adjustable fixture shelves and parallel two-canister locator. According to the principle of our device , the first step is to select a matched model of the upper of affected femur and then standard path of pins should be prepared according to the selected internal fixture. The next step is to utilize the adjustable fixture shelves to stall the model right above the affected coxa referring to the actual projection of the upper of affected femur. Finally the parallel two-canister locator is used to insert pin exactly into the femur of the patient percutaneously. The device of this locator breaks through the previous limitation. It makes percutaneous internal fixation facile and exact. Throughout our clinical observation, it proves feasible completely in clinical application.
