Compared with CEA and CA242, this data evaluated the value of serum LN in neoplastic relapse and metastasis. Method The contents of LN, CEA and CA242 in serum were measured by radioimmunoassay in patients with colorectal cancer. Results 44 colorectal cancer patients showed serum LN with Se of 84.09%, Sp of 92.65%, accuracy of 89.29%, +PV of 88.10%, ï¼PV of 90.00%, +LR of 11.44, ï¼LR of 0.172. The contents of serum LN in every Dukes cancer group were significantly higher than those in control group and benign disease group (P<0.05). There was no difference between control group and benign disease group (P>0.05). The contents of LN in Dukes C and D were higher than those in Dukes A and B (P<0.05), and the content of LN in group with lymph node metastases higher than those in group without lymph node metastases (P<0.05). Then the content of LN in postoperative group was lower than those of preoperative group (P<0.05). In all patients with colorectal cancer, the positive rate of LN was higher than those of CEA and CA242 (P<0.05), but it was no difference between positive rate of CEA and CA242 (P>0.05). Conclusion Serum LN is helpful to diagnosis, judgment of prognosis and instructing clinical therapy in colorectal cancer. Serum LN is better than CEA and CA242 for diagnosis and monitoring of postoperative condition in patients with colorectal cancer. Combined measuring postoperative contents of three serum markers, it is more useful to monitoring neoplastic relapse and metastasis. It implies that the content of the serum LN is closely related to the tumor invasion and metastases. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | colorectal cancer, serum, Laminin (LN), CEA, CA242 | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
