Objective:To study the safety of Mifepristone for mother and fetus administered prior to labor at term pregnancy. Methods: According to the random principle, we allocated 40 cases of mono-fetus and head presentation nullipara excluding placental insufficiency and cervical Bishop score~4 at term pregnancy into two groups. We evaluated clinical indices including neonatal Apgar score etc. blood drug concentration of puerpera and umbilical vein, umbilical vein blood gas analysis, and used the methods of stereology to measure various parameters of villus and blood vessels in examination group(Group A) and compared them with control group(Group B).Results:(1)The biparietal diaxneter(BPD) by B ultrasonic before delivery, neonatal weight and Apgar score, placenta weight were measured, there was no significantly statistical difference between two groups (F>0.05). (2)In group A, blood drug concentration of puerpara and umbilical vein were 913?7.8SngIml and 391.5?8.92 ng/ml respectively (1=19.8, P<0.0l), the ratio was 2.35?.32: 1, in a correlation analysis between them and time, the coefficients of correlation were -0.9(P<0.0l) and .0.16 (.P>0.05) respectively. Between puerpara and umbilical vein, the coefficient of correlation was 0.14(P>0.05). (3)ln a correlation analysis among pH value, pCO2 value, P02 value with neona~ Apgar score, their coefficients of correlation in group A and B were respectively 0.876(P0.05) and 0.849 (P<0.01), -0.9 (.P<0.01), 0.286 (P>0.05). Between the coefficients of pH and pCO2 value, 14 test was done and there was no significantly statistical difference (P>O.05). (4)Parameters of villus including Numberical Area4Density(N~J, Area Density(AA), mean Profile Area( A), Surface Area Density(Sv) and Ratio of Surface to Volume(Rsv), parameters of blood vessels including Profile Area(A), Numberical Area Density(Nj,BoundaryArea Density (BA), and mean Boundary( B) and the number of syncyt;al knot, vasculo-syncytial membrane and fibrosis villus were measured, there was no statistical signiflcance(P>O.05) between two groups. Couclusious:(l)Mifepristone could not influent neonatal Apgar score.(2)Mifepristone could not influent pH value, pCO2 value and p02 value in umbilical vein.(3)Although Mifepristone could pass placental barrier, the amount was minute, blood drug concentration level was steady and low, and had no peak and foot and didnꊰ have a linear relation.(4)Mifepnstone could pass the placentalbarrier, but was not enough to lead to pathological change.(5)Mifepristone was safe for mother and fetus administered prior to labor at term pregnancy.
