Objective: In order to study the promoting effects of bifido factor milk on nutritional status and the Index of Mental Capabllity(IMC) of child. Methods: 360 students aged 1F 2 years were randomly divided into three groups: bifido factor milk group(group A), milk group(group B) and control group(group C). Besides additional school foods, students in group A and B were given bifido factor milk(220m11d) and milk(220m11d) respectively for 5 months. Before and after the intervention, nutritional survey were performed and the values of Hb, serum calcium, weight, height and LMC were detrimined. Results: 1 Group A and B intakes of protein as well as calcium increased from 86.25%,84.05% and 60.91%,45.19% to 95.93%,93.75% and 87.3 1%,71.59% Fib concentration of group A was higher than that of group B and C respectively (PO.05). The added value of upper arm circumference of group A was higher than that of group B and C respectively (PO.05), and there was no difference of the increased values of height, weight and shank circumference between group A and B (PZ>O.05). 2 After every class, the added values of IMC of group A were higher than those of group B and C respectively (P
