It is an important targets for Chinese Communist and the government to solve the " more difficult and expensive medical treatment" for many years, but also it is the urgent needs for the masses. In April 2009, the State Council jointly issued a document "About deepening reformation of medical and health system," which clearly put forward: to encourage and guide social capital to set up non-profit medical institutions according to law; and to form a diversified pattern with specific ideas and measures. These point out the direction for the investment companies engaged in the medical industry t, and also aware of the intense competition in medical institutions in the future. For needs of self-survival and development, the hospitals have to transform the ways in order to comply with political and market changes, so that locate in a good position in the market competition.Hospital managements have to focus on the restructuring of major business and relaxing the small ones, cultivate and develop their own advantages, and fully unify social and economic benefits as a whole. The social specific aspects include: to provide patients with convenient, fast and high quality services with their work skills and appropriate cost; to ease some aspects of the difficult and expensive medical treatments. The economic benefits include: the improvement of profitability, increasing hospital equipment and personnel inputs, constant improvement of the comprehensive strength and professional level, and enhancing the income of medical workers, in order to make the hospital move in the positive development orbit.With the ardent competition in the health care market in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, by implementing the brand strategy adjustment Chengdu Kangqiao Ophthalmic Hospital successfully transform the original "big integrated, small specialist" development model into characteristics specialist hospital. Over 10 years, Chengdu Kangqiao Ophthalmic Hospital had developed from a specialist ophthalmic clinic to the initial eye center, and then from eye center expanded to the Chengdu Kangqiao Ophthalmic Hospital, and thus became a renowned local professional Ophthalmic Hospitals in Chengdu, and can compare the beauties with the West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital.The development model of Chengdu Kangqiao Ophthalmic Hospital has regarded as a successful apotheosis and widely commended in the field of private hospitals, and has predominant conditions to become an industry leader in ophthalmology. Over 10 years, we not only witnessed the successful transformation for a brand's development and growth, but witnessed the miracle, and further more importantly witness the success of private hospitals to become a professional and specialist self-development for the brand encountering the challenge by the competitive partners.Based on the in-depth analysis on the environment of ophthalmic hospitals, this dissertation research the successful transition model for private hospitals through constituting and implementing specific measures to develop specialization, and brand development model and related measures and means. This dissertation put forwards the measures and ways to implement specialization and brand strategy for private hospitals by integrating their own resources such as technologies, facilities and services and demonstrating in Chengdu Kangqiao Ophthalmic Hospital, which provide private hospitals with reference for their survival and development, and further provide patients with quality and efficient medical services.
