T-wave alternans (TWA) is one of signs to predict the SCD (sudden cardiac death) and malignant ventricular arrhythmia. It can be predicted whether the patients have the risk of SCD by detecting TWA appearance on the surface of ECG signal collected from patients non-invasively. This article will introduce the spectral decomposition method to determine whether TWA appeared or not, and to get the relevant information.Heart rate variability (HRV) is a physiological phenomenon where the time interval between heart beats varies. It is measured by the variation in the beat-to-beat interval. HRV analysis is an important method to detect the adjustment of autonomic nervous. Clinical medicine proves that HRV analysis plays a great role in the prediction of cardiovascular disease, monitor during cure period, and evaluation after recovery. It is used as reference to the evaluation of the cardiac function during sports activities or under other special condition. This article will use time-domain to analyze the HRV phenomenon, especially for the Electrocardiography(ECG) of malignant ventricular arrhythmia, and will try to find the relationship between TWA and HRV.This article will introduce how to use the MATLAB program to input the ECG signal, to detect the TWA phenomenon, and to analyze HRV for the ECG signals in which TWA appears.
