Objective:Lumbar and leg pain is one of the main symptoms of nerve root compression caused by lumbar disc herniation. Now there is no particular method of treatment. While the balanced needle with its own unique characteristics is popular in the clinical. This study focuses on the day, three days, five days, the affect of balanced needle to the nerve root compression symptoms of lumbar disc and heat stimulation threshold and the content of IL-1β, TNF-α, the initial search for the best course of treatment to lumbar disc herniation, and provides theoretical basis in clinical treatment of the balanced needle. Methods:In this experiment, rats were randomly divided into a control group, treatment group, sham operation group, model group, all groups of rats were test the hind limbs of thermal stimulation threshold. Model group and treatment group with blunt dissection to the muscle next to the lumbar spine. After exposure, the right L4 nerve root is gutted to manufacture in a rat model of lumbar disc resulting nerve root compression. Then all groups of rats were tested thermal stimulation threshold in order to observe the changes. The treatment group, after modeling, give the treatment of balanced acupuncture twice a day. After modeling,,1 day,3 days,5 days each group of rats were respectively measured thermal stimulation threshold of Affected limb again, then decapitated and tested IL-1β, TNF-αcontent in serum by ELISA.Results:(1) The thermal stimulation of the hind limbs of all rats was no significant difference before modeling. After modeling the control group, sham group was no significant difference in preoperative; the treatment group, model group was significantly prolonged. Serum IL-1β, TNF-αcontent in model group were significantly higher than the control group, sham group. That showed successful model. There was no significant difference between Serum IL-1β, TNF-a of control group, and sham operation group, indicating that traumatic stress has little effect on the experiment.(2) Serum IL-1β, TNF-αlevels of treatment groups were significantly decreased compared with model group, indicating significant effect of experimental treatment.(3) When the number of days increased, the control group, sham operation group, model group at different time points, serum IL-1β, TNF-αdid not change significantly, while in the treatment group decreased significantly.Conclusion:(1) Balanced acupuncture significantly reduced serum IL-1β, TNF-αcontent of nerve root compression symptoms in lumbar disc herniation. The IL-1β, TNF-αhas been proved to be involved in the pain caused by lumbar disc nerve root compression, is a pair of important inflammatory cytokines. indicating that balanced acupuncture can relieve nerve root compression symptoms in lumbar disc herniation by reducing IL-1β, TNF-αcontent.(2) increase the number of days with treatment, one day, three days, five days time the treatment group, serum IL-1β, TNF-αwas significant ly decreased in turn, and the fifth day of the treatment group and control group was no significantly different, indicating a continuous treatment twice daily for five days better than one day, three days.
