Zhongjing's literature were documented in this study as the research object, from name of blood stasis syndrome-related diseases to the etiology and pathogenesis, symptoms,diagnosis, treatment, formula and drugs of blood stasis were comprehensively studied.Zhongjing had a deep understanding of pathogenesis of blood stasis, blood stasis in the body was an important aspect of clinical diseases, causes, location, course, the development, etiology and pathogenesis of blood stasis was comprehensively discussed according to the diseases from wide-ranging, multi-levels, different aspects, blood stasis was charactristed by diverse etiologies, extensive causing diseases and complicated development.the clinical syndrome diagnosis of blood stasis could be summarized as follows: First:local symptoms and signs:including local pain, swelling, ecchymosis and so on. Second:blood-stasis related symptoms and signs include:signs of consciousness, internal medicine, gynecology, surgery-related blood stasis symptoms. Third:The congestion-related tongue and pulse characteristic of Chinese medicine:violet or purple tongue, petechiae and Ecchymosis were important signs of blood stasis; pulse tends to be slow and astringent.Drugs used to treat blood stasis syndrome by ZhongJing also had distinctive features, we counted 27 prescriptions of Zhongjing treating blood stasis syndrome, drugs were used for 136 times, including a frequency of 65 times of drugs of facilitating blood circulation, which was 47.79% of the total; 65 different kinds of drugs were involved in prescription, there were 23 kinds of drugs of facilitating blood circulation, accounting for 35.38%. of which 15 species were from plants, accounting for 65.22% ,6 species were from animals,, accounting for 26.09%, nitrate and saltpeter were the only 2 minerals, accounting for 8.70%.there were other drugs with an frequency of 71 times in 27 prescriptions of Zhongjing's Treatment of blood stasis syndrome,42 species of drugs were involved, including drugs of relieving, antipyretic, diarrhea, dampness, diuresis, heating, flowing Qi, cough and asthma controlling, tonic, blood management,calming liver wind, external, etc., all these reflected Zhongjing's compatibility of the various drugs of the treatment of blood stasis syndrome, which led to the formation of The later method, such as increasing Qi and circulating blood, flowing Qi and circulating blood, heating meridians and circulating blood,cooling and circulating blood, dispeling wind and and circulating blood, stop bleeding and circulating blood, nourishing blood and circulating blood to remove tumors, blood detoxification and circulating blood methods of treating blood stasis sydrome which were of guiding significance.
