Riehl's Melanosis In Western Progress And Mentor Differential Treatment Experience

Riehl's melanosis (Riehl's melanosis, RM) is a facial skin pigmentation mainly, in recent years the incidence of this disease continued to increased, the characteristic performance of RM is the gradual emergence of the purple-brown pigmentation spots in face and neck with telangiectasia and the "dust" appearance. RM has complex causes, including exposure to allergens, the external environmental stimuli, malnutrition, endocrine disorders and individual psychological state and so on. Its pathogenesis is not clear, the current international research on this disease focused on the melanin metabolism, with the rapid development of cell biology and biochemistry technology, the pathogenesis of this disease also entered to the molecular biology level, in recent years it has taken enormous progress. At present there isn't a internationally accepted and effective method of treatment yet and modem medical treatment of this disease is still concentrated in the phase of symptomatic treatment, including system applications of high-dose vitamin C, External application of bleaching agents, stripping agents, and so on. It is reported that intense pulsed light technology applied to the treatment of this disease in recent years, but long-term efficacy is uncertain. This study was designed to discuss the causes, pathogenesis, clinical manifestation, treatment and prognosis of it. Two major points are included, the literature review and the experience of instructor. In the part of literature review, we expatiated the latest research advances of the melanin metabolic disorder and the treatment of RM. The second part sums up the works of modern experts on this disease, from the view of Chinese traditional medicine. Another part of the paper introduced Ms.Chen Ke-ping's experience and exploration for RM, with a goal to provide a valuable reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of RM.
