Objective: To establish appropriate methods for determination of camphor, menthol, borneol methylsalicylate and isorhamnetin-3,7-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside in Xiaozhong Zhitong tincture, Compound Fluocinonide tincture, Hongyao strapping, Zushima Guanjie Zhitong strapping and Semen Descurainiae.Methods: Capillary gas chromatography was adopted to establish methods for determination of camphor, menthol, borneol and methylsalicylate in Xiaozhong Zhitong tincture, Compound Fluocinonide tincture, Hongyao strapping and Zushima Guanjie Zhitong strapping. To establish a determination method for isorhamnetin-3,7-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside in Semen Descurainiae by high performance capillary electrophoresis.Results: Under the optimal experimental conditions, Camphor and Menthol could be separated well in Xiaozhong Zhitong tincture by capillary gas chromatography. The linear range was 3.00~18.00 (?)g.mL-1, 3.20~19.20 (?)g.mL-1, respectively. The recovery was 98.53%101.5%, 97.62%101.7%, respectively. Borneol and n-Octanol in Compound Fluocinonide tincture could be separated well under the chromatographic conditions. The linear range of borneol was 0.5~3.0 mg.mL-1, and the recovery was 98.5%~101.6%. The resolution and linearity of camphor, menthol, borneol and methylsalicylate in Hongyao strapping were good under the chromatographic conditions. The average recoveries of camphor, menthol, borneol and methylsalicylate were 99.8%, 100.3%, 99.5% and 99.7%, respectively. The calibration curves of camphor, menthol, borneol and methyl salicylate in Zushima Guanjie Zhitong strapping were linear. The average recoveries were 99.2%, 99.1%, 99.1% and 99.0%, respectively. Under the optimal experimental conditions, the determination method for isorhamnetin-3,7-di-O-β-D -glucopyranoside in Semen Descurainiae was validated over linear ranges of 10100μg.mL-1, and the average recoveries was 99.3%.Conclusion: The developed methods are simple, sensitive, accurate and have good repeatability, which can be used to control the quality of Xiaozhongzhitong tincture, Compound Fluocinonide tincture, Hongyao strapping and Zushima Guanjie Zhitong strapping by capillary gas chromatography. High performance capillary electrophoresis have the advantages that short analysis times, high separation efficiency, small injection volume. Based on eight batches of samples which collected around the country, to first establish a determination method for isorhamnetin-3,7-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside in Semen Descurainiae by high performance capillary electrophoresis.
