Chengdu Modern Logistics Development

Modern logistics is a complex service industry. As an important part of national economy, it is a significant symbol to measure the investment environment and comprehensive strength of a region. By speeding up the development of modern logistics to make Chengdu, which is located in inland, an important modern logistics center of western China, and improve the investment environment, strengthen the industry absorption capacity, promote industrial upgrading and restructuring, raise the city's comprehensive competitiveness, consolidate and upgrade Chengdu as the technology centre, financial centre, trade centre, transportation hub and communications hub of south-west China. It can also promote the pursuant and leap-forward development of Chengdu's economy.The thesis uses the methods of document retrieval, field research, comparative study and data research to analyze the history and status of Chengdu's logistics, and then points out that Chengdu has already attained some achievements, such as attracting famous logistics enterprises home and abroad, construction of rapid channel for logistics, construction of logistics information platform, and construction of logistics parks and centers. These achievements have made a good preparation for the coming rapid development of Chengdu's modern logistics. On that basis, the thesis points out four main characteristics: The scale of modern logistics has been rapidly expanded. The developmental level of modern logistics has been greatly increased. The modern logistics infrastructure has been continuously improved. The development environment of modern logistics has been continuously optimized. Then, the thesis has summarized three main advantages for the development of Chengdu's modern logistics:favorable policy environment, favorable economic environment, and good development momentum of related industries and enterprises. The thesis also points out three main disadvantages:unfavorable geography location, low information-based degree, and weak standardization foundation. By analyzing the new trends and new characteristics of modern logistics at home and abroad, the thesis points out three main development directions of Chengdu's modern logistics:great demand of modern logistics will make this industry continue to maintain the momentum of sustained and rapid growth; improvement of rapid channel of logistics will promote a rapid development of Chengdu's modern logistics; acceleration of international logistics and bonded logistics will greatly improve the international level of Chengdu's modern logistics. Finally, the thesis has pointed out four main ideas for further development of Chengdu's modern logistics:construction of regional economic cooperation and logistics parks (centers), construction of transportation infrastructure, construction of logistics information platform and logistics standardization, construction of modern logistics credit system.The author hopes that the research and analysis of the thesis can provide some useful suggestions and proposals for the further development of Chengdu's modern logistics.
