A Auto Parts Manufacturers Materials Distribution Center Site Selection Study

With the rapid development of science and technology and economic globalization,the means of reducing the cost of raw materials and improving the production capacity of equipments to improve the enterprise efficiency have become very limited. As a result, modern logistics has become the third source of profit for an enterprise.After the plant layout has been defined, this thesis adapts qualitative and quantitative methods to determine an enterprise-wide materials distribution center to support manufacturing operations. The objective is to reduce product cost and improve the enterprise competitiveness.In this thesis,first step is to use the center of gravity method to determine the initial location of the distribution center, and then in accordance with the principle of economic planning and the actual layout of the factories to determine the three candidate locations of the distribution center.Because many factors affect site selection, and this factors can be qualitative or quantitative. only use this factor to establish the model of site selection doesn't reflect the actual situation of the enterprise.so through the enterprise external and internal analysis, Delphi method is used to establish evaluation criteria system for site selection.then Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied to analyze these factors. With the establishment of the paired comparison matrix, the weight of each factor on the ultimate decision-making can be found.finally with the obtained weights, each factor in the overall evaluation criteria system of the highest score can be set. The system can be used to rate the three candidate places, based on their overall score and then the final decision can be made.evaluate the site results from the two aspects of social and economic benefits.In the end of the article,it summarize the entire paper, point out the lack of theory application and the application of site selection in the future prospect.
