Tourist perception as an important part of the study of tourism has become the focus of tourist research. From the current research, tourist perception in the academic research mainly concentrate on aspects of tourist destination, tourism image, tourist service and so on. For a long time, while people have consciousness on amicability resources in tourism destination. But up to the present, the research of detailed system is comparatively few. Tourists'perception to hospitality of resident in tourist destination reflects the local development of tourism, and also reflects the quality of local residents. But the research are not directly related to the tourist perception of host hospitality from visitors whether in tourist perception field or in cross-cultural communication field.The author relies on the data of the national natural science funds projects that the research on travel behavior model of different inbound tourist groups and the research on East-West spatial evolvement mechanism of tourist flows in Chinese typical regions, and the assistant data of tourist statistic datum from state authorized organs, selects six Chinese tourist city:Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Guilin, Kunming, Xi'an as a case, according to the theory of economy, resource, management, society, culture, tourist geography and so on, combine integration of theory with practice, qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis, based on analysis on empirical survey in Chinese hot spot tourist cities by means of theory analysis, economics quantitative analysis, compare analysis, take quantitative evaluation to the tourist perception of host hospitality from inbound tourists in Chinese hot spot tourist cities. And at last, the text put forward effective, feasible, constructive countermeasures and advices to advance the host hospitality, tourist attraction and the city image.This paper mainly includes three aspects:firstly, it analyze the research significance of the tourist perception of host hospitality from inbound tourists, and the present situation of tourist perception research at home and abroad; Secondly, define the concept of host hospitality; Thirdly, analyze the differences of host hospitality between different culture backgrounds, different geodemographics, different tourist incentives, different stay time and different time sections in Chinese east and west hot spot tourist cities.Through the study on tourist perception of host hospitality from inbound tourists in Chinese six hot spot tourist cities, the paper abtains 4 conclusions as follows:tourist perception of host hospitality from inbound tourists in Chinese six hot spot tourist cities(1) There are big difference in tourist perception and evaluation of host hospitality from inbound tourists in Chinese six hot spot tourist cities between different cultural background.In addition to Asia, perception and evaluation to 3 western tourist cities in China of host hospitality from visitors from Europe, North America, and Oceania is higher than 3 hot tourist cities in the east China. And it shows that the western cities are totally better than the eastern.Tourist perception and evaluation of host hospitality to Guilin from inbound European tourists in Chinese six hot spot tourist cities is the highest, and the lowest is Guangzhou. In 2004,tourist perception and evaluation of host hospitality to Xi'an from inbound North America tourists in Chinese six hot spot tourist cities is the highest, and the lowest is Guangzhou. In 2008, Gunlin is the highest, and the lowest is Beijing. In 2004,tourist perception and evaluation of host hospitality to Xi'an from inbound Asian tourists in Chinese six hot spot tourist cities is the highest, and the lowest is Gunlin and Guangzhou. In 2008, Gunlin is the highest, and the lowest is Xi'an. It shows that the host hospitality to Asian tourists of Guilin develops fast in four years, and Xi'an falls fast. In 2004, tourist perception and evaluation of host hospitality to Guilin from inbound Oceania tourists in Chinese six hot spot tourist cities is the highest, and the lowest is Guangzhou. In 2008, Kunming is the highest, and the lowest is Shanghai.(2) Sex, age, occupation, education, travel motive, stay time in different time section of inbound tourists affect host hospitality remarkable, and these genes can be the standard of market segments.(3)By calculating the data, the survey obtained the tourist perception of host hospitality. The conclusions were as follows, except Guangzhou, the scores of the other five cities exceeded 3.5 points. According to the score from high to low, the order of the cities were:Guilin, Kunming, Xi'an, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. The conclusions between 2004 and 2008 were similar, but the overall scores in 2008 of Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Kunming, Xi'an were decreased in some degrees except Guangzhou.(4) The western cities were better than Eastern cities in the tourists' perception of host hospitality. Guilin was the NO.1 in western cities, followed by Kunming, Xi'an. Shanghai was the NO.1 in eastern cities, followed by Beijing,Guangzhou.Based on the survey of tourism market, the survey made the empirical study of inbound tourists'perception of host hospitality. The innovations were as follows:(1) Currently in the academic, the researches on tourists' perception were concentrated on tourist destination, tourism image and tourists perception behavior, but the survey on host hospitality was relatively fewer. This paper put forward the concept of host hospitality firstly.(2) Based on extensive literatures and on-the-spot investigation, the paper pay attention to the combinations of the theory research and practical application. The paper made the comparative study of the tourists' perception of host hospitality in Chinese six hot tourist cities, and gave some suggestions, what reflected the features of multi-subjects and multi-methods. And the conclusions had some reference value for improving the decision-making, establishing a sound urban image and tourism marketing.Due to the time and resources, this research was only did preliminary exploration on this field, the theoretical research was not deep enough. In reality, the host hospitality was affected by culture background, demographic factors, tourist motives and retention time etc, so this field remained to be further studied.
