Lean production is original from Japanese Toyota company, it is the most advanced and effective mode of production of today manufacturing industry. In lean production, need not input more resources of production, only produce necessary quantity of market urgent demand at the right time,all operation activity are helpful, effective and economical. Lean production is producing in time, eliminate breakdown eliminate all waste; it marches to zero defect, zero inventory.SZM was found in 2001, it is a foreign company, and main product is INVERTER. major process of INVERTER is SMT process, but SMT process is common process of electronic manufacturing company, many companies have SMT line, so the competition of INVERTER is very hard on market. Price of INVERTER is one of the most effective way of competition. All this require SZM company must continue to reduce the cost, and improve production efficiency. Lean production and SZM Company have the same goal; it is in accordance with company basic strategy. Company management agrees to regard lean production as manufacturing operation strategy, and implement lean production in INVERTER workshop.This thesis studied the INVERTER workshop deeply, integrating theory of lean production, to analyze the line balance of INVERTER workshop. Through the analysis of standard time and station, this thesis proposed improve plan. After implement the improve plan, reducing nine operators, improve 17% overall performance. Through the analysis of WIP status, it found the cause of more WIP on line, and take improve action to reduce 30% WIP base on spot situation. This thesis analyzed the material handling route, find out unreasonable point, re-layout the workshop, after improvement, reduce material handling route 160 meter and reduce 2 operator, improve the material handling efficiency, reduce the non valuable material transferring. It makes workshop beautiful, improved the impress of the customer. By working out 5S procedure to institutionalize 5S activity, and make 5S to be daily work. By reward and punishment, improve the passion of employee, and get obvious improvement of workshop .
