The concept of corporate social responsibility originated from western countries in 19th century. CSR had not recognized as a theoretical research area and entered a stage of rapid development until 1950s. From the perspective of practice, the United Nations plays a significant role in promoting corporations to take the social responsibility. The Global Compact, launched by Kofi Annan in January, 1999, calls for corporations to abide by nine principles related to human rights, labor standard and the environment. Corporate social responsibility is now gradually becoming the new standard for assessing the internationalization degree of a corporation in the society and the CSR movement is spreading around the world. At present, there are a number of international measurements for inspecting the corporations' social responsibility. In terms of application range, SA8000 is the most wildly used and also the first universal measurement which is applicable to the third party accreditation. Now lots of Chinese coastal companies have been measured for their social responsibility according to SA8000. The corporation's taking their social responsibility is the trend of times. CSR is a fundamental concept for building up a harmonious relationship between corporations and the society, and it involves various issues such as labor rights, quality of product, environment protection and social commitment. In China, the lack of corporate social responsibility has seriously affected the harmonious development of social economy, which has a close relation to many problems like labor conflicts, production safety, environment pollution, community conflicts and labor shortage. The correct recognition and execution of corporate social responsibility is helpful in solving these kinds of problems. In this essay, corporate social responsibility refers to that the enterprise should take the initiative in protecting stakeholder interests including the interests of the employee, creditor, consumer, product suppliers and the community when they are pursuing the maximization of shareholders' profits. Employee is the one who directly create the corporation profit. In spite of the fact that external stakeholders such as government, consumer, environment and community are the main factors affecting the corporate social environment, the lack of the corporation's social responsibility towards its employees may lead to a series of problems including the unhappy emotion of employees, the decreasing of product quality and service quality. This will finally result in complaints from customers and further the loss of customers. Only when the employees are treated well, can they work happily and create excellent performance both individually and in group. This essay will discuss how CSR influences the employees' attitude and their work performance from the aspect of the corporation's social responsibility towards its employees so that the corporation can realize that taking its social responsibility do not mean the increase of unnecessary cost. Instead, it can be very helpful in increasing the internal consumers' satisfaction and then the employee can work happily, which can improve their individual performance and create more profits for the corporation. The author has chosen some tellers from different commercial banks to do this survey with statistic analysis methods including factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis. The measuring scale is mainly made up of three parts, the corporation's social responsibility towards its employees, the attitude of employees and their work performance. The corporation's social responsibility towards its employees will be measured from economic, legal and other aspects. The attitude of employees is divided into two dimensions, affective commitment and satisfaction. The measurement of the employees' individual performance will not only focus on their task performance, but also involve the correlation performance of interpersonal promotion produced in working process. There are five chapters in this paper: introduction, literature review, research model design and empirical research design, questionnaire statistics analysis, conclusion and policy proposal.Based on the results of empirical analysis, this essay gives following conclusions:1,Compared with economic responsibility and discretionary responsibility, the employees' affective satisfaction can be increased efficiently if the bank takes legal responsibility towards its tellers; compared with legal responsibility and discretionary responsibility, the employees' affective commitment towards the bank can be greatly promoted if the bank takes its economic responsibility. Discretionary responsibility is also important for improving the employees' attitude towards the organization. Thus there is every chance that the employees' attitude will be greatly improved if the bank integrates these three responsibilities.2,The employees' satisfaction and commitment towards the organization have similar influence upon task performance. The employees' interpersonal relationship performance, however, is more depended on their sense of belonging, that is, affective commitment factor.According to the results of empirical analysis, the fifth chapter gives corresponding policy proposals for promoting the harmonious coexistence of employees and the corporation and protecting Chinese employees' interests.
