OPEC whose phylogeny is equal to the history of the relation between it and the USA is an international organization with great influence in the world. For knowing OPEC correctly and understanding the current relation between OPEC and the USA, we need to research the course of the relation between OPEC and the USA. As to the forecast about the future of the relation between them, it is good for us to understand the future international oil market and international oil strategic situation.The article divides the research on the relations between OPEC and the USA into two parts that are history review in the first piece and trend analysis in the second piece. In the first piece, the writer firstly analyzed the international oil strategic situation before OPEC's founding and the cause and the course of OPEC's founding, and then the relations between OPEC and the USA was divided into two periods to research. Through the research, the writer came up with the kind and form of the relations under different background. In the second piece, the writer deeply analyzed various factors that would influence the relations between OPEC and the USA in the future. Based on the analysis, he elicited the character and set up the model of the relations. In addition, he also forecasted their future relations.For a long time, the relations between OPEC and the USA has been treated as a kind of struggling relations and the essential of the relations has been misunderstood by people. In fact, the cooperation between OPEC and the USA has been ignored. Through enumerating a lot of facts and analyzing the relations between them deeply, the article try to correct the traditional incorrect understanding and bring the real appearance of the relations to people.
