In today's organizations, the form of individual's decision has been gradually replaced by group decision making, which task of the first stage is to bring forth decision projects according to special topics for discussion. Often, it's group meetings that enable group members to interact, share information and make decisions. The analysis of factors of information sharing in group meetings and their effect on decision projects founded by the group is necessary but very little. In order to further confirm and apply the information sampling model of group decision making proposed by Stasser to new task area, a new idea-engendering group task with information distribution is designed and a model of effect factors for decision projects is proposed. Then, by demonstration research, we foucus on how important effect factors of the group level affect decision outcome through information sharing in the Chinese cultural environment. The present study adopted laboratory experiment and a 2(the leadership style: democratic and directive)×2(the group cohesiveness: high and low)×2(the group size: 3 people and 7 people) orthogonal experimental design with 2 levels of 3 factors to carry on the group decision research. The experimental samples are colleage students in Central South University. There are total 40 groups which took part in the group meeting:"Making Decision Projects to Flee for the Helicopter Pilot's Life". The arranged recorders would put down in writing the progress information and the questionnaire investigation would be made to collect data. The results of statistic analysis showed:In this decision task, the order of the three factors effect on information sharing according to their importance is "Group Size">"Leadership Style">"Group Cohesiveness". The group size affected the number of decision projects possibly through the amount of discussed shared-information. On the other side, the leadership style and the group cohesiveness affected the quality of decision projects possibly through the amount of discussed unshared-information. The order of these two factors effect on the quality of decision projects is "Leadership Style">"Group Cohesiveness". For the idea-engendering group task, it's better to select the group with high than low cohesiveness as the decision host, for the first performance of progress and outcome is more excellent. The outcome of the article cast light on the relationship of information and decision quality. It also makes us know more about the group meetings of the idea-engendering group task. Some valuable advice was also proposed in order to improve the efficiency of group meetings.
