As domestic economy grows fast, we are now in need of more and more resources for production. Since there is a shortage of resource inland, people are getting to exploit the various resources in the sea, which helps develop the "blue economy". As one of the props of ocean economy, ocean transportation has contributed a lot to the development of ocean economy. However, many people ignored the importance of ocean transportation in its effect on ocean economy. So this paper is to make a research on the contribution in detail based on "Shanghai 908 Project", in order to better develop ocean transportation and ocean economy.Firstly, the text introduces the concept and development of ocean transportation and ocean economy, and analyzes their relationship and problems. Then a production function would be built on the basis of solow-swan model, taking gross product of ocean economy as dependent variable, the input of ocean transportation, technological level and labor quantity of ocean economy as independent variable. Then, the text utilized the contribution model to research the contribution of ocean transportation to the growth of ocean economy in Shanghai. After the correlation between the development of ocean economy and ocean transportation has been proved to be close, the contribution would be calculated. In the end, the text carries on summary and some suggestions to enhance ocean transportation and ocean economy of Shanghai.
