Virtual Teams can make organizations more flexibly and more quickly torespond in such diverse and dynamic global environment. Many organizationsset Virtual Teams up by electro-net for diversified items from 1990's. In theory, the study of Virtual Teams began in the early 1990's and flourish after 1995.By comparison with traditional teams, Virtual Teams are more difficult tocontrol and supervise team members because of long-range work style. So howto make up these shortages by personnel selection and other mechanisms is thefocus of the group study and HR theory. The essence of group is collaboration.According to the I-P-O model, collaboration is the processe variable, canimpact the out-comes and be impacted by the team's imputs. Although somepsychological variables are studied deeply in the role of promoting thecollaboration, such as group identity, self-efficacy, uncertainty, expectationand so on.,there is not enough studies on the mutual impact of some variables.Achievement Motivation and Goal Interdependence are both the imputs ofgroup. People with different Achievement Motivations have differentmotivations to achieve their successes and different attention to their workperformances. The Goal Interdependence is similar with the intensiveoperation and affect the effort and collaboration. One is the character ofpersonal value, the other is the character of group. It's valuable to probe intowhether these two variables affect the collaboration in the Virtual Teams. What's more important is whether and how these two variables interact thecollaboration in the Virtual Teams. To probe into such questions is propitiousto control the collaborations in groups by personal selection and intensivemechanism. This study try to work over such three questions: (1) whether theAchievement Motivation affect the collaboration in the Virtual Teams;(2)whether the Goal Interdependence affect the collaboration in the VirtualTeams;(3) whether and how these two variables interact the collaboration inthe Virtual Teams. Our testees is 180 students from Guangzhou Nanyang College, the task isresource dilemma and our experiment's design is 2(AchievementMotivation)~*3(Goal Interdependence). The results shows that:the GoalInterdependence can affect the collaboration and collaborations increase whencollaborations increase; The two variables can interact the collaboration andthe high Achievement Motivation are more easily affected by the GoalInterdependence; The high Achievement Motivation in the high GoalInterdependence is the best combination for collaborations in the VirtualTeams.
