| Since 1970's, the world has entered into a new time in which the information technologyleads to the revolution of main industry. The main industry has changed from agriculture andmanufacture to service industry. At present, the production value of service industry is morethan 60ï¼…of the world's GDP. The service trade has accounted for 1/4 of the total world's trade.The service consumption is about 1/2 of the whole consumption. The notion of Modern ServiceIndustry is a new concept in recent years in China. Its first appearance was found in the Reportof the 15th Party's Conference in September 1997. Along with the developing of economicglobalization and information technology, modern service industry becomes more and moreimportant in the development of the social economy. Its degree has been the important mark ofthe level of economy and society's modernization.Tianjin is the economic center of the Bohai rim. In order to be the economic center of theNorth of China, it should offer services in many aspects for the surrounding area, promote theservice and radiating ability. So the service industry should be developed emphatically,especially the modern service industry. Because we were influenced by the Plan Economymechanism for a long time, and we have the notion that the merchandise is more importantthan the service, so we can't realize the importance of the service industry for the nationaleconomy, and the research about it is little. In the recent years, as the emergence of theproblems induced by investment and the high development of industry, such as the growingunemployment, the rising consumption of energy and raw materials, the devastation of theenvironment, and the imbalance of social economy, the academia and the business circles ofTianjin have cognized the importance to develop the modern service industry. We should usethe stimulative function of the modern service industry adequately to quicken the step to makeTianjin become to the economic center of north China.Because of service industry contains a lot of fields, and we have no clear notion for whatis service industry and the relationship with the Third Industry. Firstly, this paper analyzed theconceptions and sorts of the service, service industry and the modern service industry, analyzesthe relationship and the differences of the service industry and the Third industry, and themodern service industry with the Third industry. So we can have a clear notion and sort formodern service industry. It is the basis for other chapters. Secondly, the trend and the featuresof the service industry were discussed in two aspects: supply and demand on base of the theory,then the condition to develop service industry was brought up. The third and fourth chaptersfocused on the collection, sortation and induction of materials about the modern serviceindustry of Tianjin. By the analysis and compare in the history and facts aspects, we point outthe features and lacks to develop modern service industry, and analyze the policy environmentand advantages. This paper gaves some suggests about to promote the developing of modernservice industry for Tianjin.2005, the open and deploitation of Tianjin Binhai New Area was listed in the nationaldevelopment strategy by the government to speed region economic development. The raisingof strategy position and the special geographical advantages determine that the Binhai NewArea is not only the locomotive of the Bohai rim, but also the important components of Tianjineconomy. It is the foreland to develop modern service economy quickly. As concerned as thefunction position of the Binhai new area, this paper discusses the challenges and advantagesfaced by the Binhai New Area, especially in the finance and transportation industry, then thesubstantial strategy was given to develop the modern service industry. |
