Urban recreation function has been received more and more recognition from many persons, at the same time, the theory development of urban recreation lagged behind practice. The long term separation between land-use planning and urban recreation exploitation planning resulted in the out-of-order and irrational development of city recreation spaces. With the advancement of rural urbanization and the development of economy, great importance has been attached to the research on the mutual relationship between urban recreation spaces exploitation and urban land use.However, as far as the research content is concerned, most of the former achievements are related to recreation space types, recreation space structure and its evolution, lack of the overall study on the mutual effect of the two sides. Therefore, taking the development of urban recreation as the background, this thesis pinpoints the mutual relationship between urban recreation spaces exploitation and urban land use.At first, on the basis of urban land use, this dissertation analyzes the related factors and theories about the study. As a result of the qualitative analysis of the mechanism, characteristic and form of the mutual effect, the article draws a conclusion of the mutual effect mechanism. To make quantitative analysis, the author establishes the space interaction model based on the relationship of urban recreation space exploitation and land-use in city. Besides, the article introduces the model into CA model, which orients the research method of analyzing the mutual act mechanism of urban recreation space exploitation and land-use according to the shape evolution of city spaces. Finally, on the basis of the example of Tianhe RBD, Guangzhou city, the thesis proves the tight relationship between urban recreation space exploitation and land use. The major conclusions are as follows: 1) The mutual relationship between urban recreation exploitation and urban land-use is not isolation, it was influenced by other factors, such as urban planning, land use planning and locations in the city etc.2) Land is a carrier for the exploitation of urban recreation space. Some characteristics of land use influence the urban recreation space exploitation as follows: location of the land affected urban recreation space layout, land-use types affect urban recreation space exploitation type. land-use planning affecting urban recreation space form etc. On the other hand, the exploitation of urban recreation space also affects urban land-use, such as increase the land value, affects land prices in the city etc.3) In view of time, the relationship between urban recreation space exploitation and land use is not synchronizations. From view of space, the relationship between them is mutual attraction and mutual exclusion.4) Use CA model to explore the relationship between urban recreation space exploitation and land-use is a useful attempt in quantitative analysis aspect.5) The thesis proves the tight relationship between urban recreation space exploitation and land-use through the Tianhe RBD example.
