Middle East plays a decisive and irreplaceable role in the world oil market. In order tomaintain petroleum security, American administration adopts a policy in which MiddleEast oil strategy is of primary importance to its world oil strategy and intends tomonopolize Middle East's oil resources. America's deep-seated target is getting rid of itsaddiction to Middle East' oil and gaining its ends to bring pressure to other importers andthen obtain world oil hegemony by the means of controlling Middle East's oil.By view of the phylogeny of American oil policy in Middle East, we can find that asMiddle East's oil become more and more important in the world oil market, America'sdesire for Middle East's oil is getting stronger and stronger. Its policy is changing andgradually gaining ground in Middle East. As the only super power of the world, Americahas some advantages, but it has to face many challenges which come from the complexMiddle East situation, unitive world oil market, other mighty oil importers and exporters.It's very hard for America to monopolize Middle East's oil.
