As an important part of the traditional service industry in the tertiary industry of China, the restaurant industry has a rapid development which dramatically affected our national economy and people's life. Promoting restaurant public liability insurance is a matter of great significance. In this paper, we first start from a the theoretically analyze for the concept of insurance coverage and insurable interest of the restaurant public liability insurance, which are according to the related conceptual analysis of the"liability insurance"and"public liability insurance". Then we discussed the shortages and progresses of the insurance products in china, after the comparative analysis of the insurance coverage for five different insurance policies, which is the same kind insurance product in China and from abroad, we also discussed what should the insurers in China do according to the experience from abroad. Next, this paper gives a brief introduction of the present status of restaurant public liability insurance in China, especially in Beijing. Following the reasons for this situation of restaurant directors, insurers, public and government, some corresponding solutions are given in this paper. Due to the present not satisfying state of asking the restaurant directors to purchase this insurance voluntarily, we finally show that the best way to promote the restaurant public liability insurance is using the administrative compulsory measures; and that its necessary for Chinese restaurant industry.
