| Since the beginning of reform and opening up, China's processing trade policy with regulation of bonded materials and parts imported for processing trade as its core has given full play to China's comparative advantages in international division of labor, enabled China to successfully seize the historic opportunity of international shifts of industries and the deepening of international division of labor in East Asia, and directly brought about vigorous growth in China's processing trade. Processing trade plays a huge role in China's foreign trade growth, technological progress, industrial upgrading, and increase in employment.With the increasing deepening of international division of labor, China has made unprecedented strides in both the depth and breadth of its integration into the global economy. New great changes have taken place in the scale, structure, mode, content, and subject of processing trade in Nanhui District, Shanghai, and these changes have given rise to new requirements for China's existing processing trade policies and regulatory methods. Thus, a more thorough analysis of processing trade requirements for policies and regulatory methods and prompt policy adjustments and perfection in regulatory methods consistent with the intrinsic requirements of the development of processing trade will further enable Nanhui to expand the scale of its processing trade, prolong the industrial chain, increase the local land appreciation rate, expedite technological progress and industrial upgrading, thereby pushing forward the industrialization process in Nanhui and turning Nanhui into a world-class manufacturing base.
