Philosophical Perspective Of Consumption And Human Development

As an old and eternal theme, consumption is closely related to humankind. No one can escape the influence of consumption, whether he is a palace noble or a common people. Along with the development of science and technology, the status of consumption in people's social life is highlighting little by little. The problems generated by consumption are also more complicated, which gradually becomes a problem for human society to meet together. From the highly perspective of Marxist philosophy, this thesis reveals the function mechanism of consumption to people, advocates scientific consumption conception and promotes free and all-round development of human through the study of the relation between consumption and human development.This thesis starts with consumption and its composition and gradually uncovers the mysterious veil of consumption. By studying consumption, the thesis explores the nature of consumption subject and object as well as their interaction process, which paves the way for extending discussion of the following thesis. Consumption subject's values as well as personal knowledge, cultural literacy, moral level and sociality of consumption determine that a proper value theory is needed to guide and regularize consumption and make consumption and human development in parallel direction. Consumption is a means of human development and human development is the value purpose of consumption, and consumption plays an important role in the process of promoting human development.Meanwhile, consumption is a double-edged sword. People reverse the consumption means and purpose under the misguiding of consumerism and get stuck in endless material desires and lose themselves. The alienation of consumption inevitably causes distortion of social and economic development, for which people pay a painful price and will surely hinder human development. Human development requires that the alienation of consumption must be cleared up and a scientific, reasonable consumption pattern should be implemented.Our country takes the opportunity of implementing scientific development concept to change consumption idea, strengthen consumption ethic, define consumption purpose, shoulder the consumption responsibility, carry out scientific development concept in consumption area and establish scientific consumption view. A scientific consumption should be established from the following three angles of"People First"principle, maintain sustainability of natural environment, realize social harmony and stimulate people's own development, so as to promote a harmonious environment of nature-society-human and then advance free and all-round development of human.
