| With global warming to human impacts more and more obvious, all the countries are actively looking for their own low-carbon economic development model, and consumption as the important process of the economic development is bound to corresponding links. Food consumption as a very important part of household consumption, in recent years has increasingly gained attention. Food consumption have big impact on the ecology, energy, land use, energy, air, water and others, and the food carbon consumption has a great influence for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In 2008, Weber, Matthews assess the whole food system of the United States with economic input-output life cycle assessment, and the research shows that the U.S. CO2 emissions through food indirectly is 15% of the total U.S. emissions of CO2.In this paper, I want to research the carbon consumption of urban household food and which economic factors affect it. Firstly I collected data of the various types of urban households food consumption in "China Statistical Yearbook" from 1985 to 2009,and I analysis food consumption trends and structural changes about urban household. The paper also defined the scope of food carbon consumption in the family, and it distinguished direct and indirect food carbon consumption in the family and calculated it。The research about food consumption of urban households in China shows that:in 1985-2009, the trend of China's capita food consumption in urban households was downward. In 1985-2009 urban households in China in the proportion of food consumption was significantly reduced, while oil, meat, eggs, aquatic products, alcohol proportion of total food consumption increased to varying degrees, the court of vegetables the proportion of total consumption accounted for little change in food consumption.The research about the carbon consumption of urban household food shows that:1985-2009 China's urban household per capita carbon consumption in the overall food directly downward trend, during which China's urban per capita household consumption of food directly change the carbon is divided into two stages,1985-1999 was a significant downward trend in 2000-2009 years have slowly increased.1985-2009 China's urban household per capita food consumption of carbon per cent of the urban households the proportion of direct food carbon consumption significantly decreased the proportion of carbon consumption of vegetables has increased by a small margin, and oils, meat, eggs, aquatic products, the proportion of carbon alcohol consumption were significantly increased.1985-2009 China's urban household food indirect carbon consumption was significantly increased.Food carbon consumption in urban households in China has not yet reached steady state, its change and economic factors, there is a great relevance.1985-2009 family food directly in China's urban per capita carbon consumption and GDP index per capita disposable income of urban residents, urban residents per capita food consumption expenditure price index for food consumption of urban residents, the Engel coefficient of correlation.1985-2009 China's urban household food consumption and per capita GDP indirect carbon index of urban residents per capita disposable income of urban residents per capita consumption expenditure of durable goods, durable consumer price index of urban residents were significantly correlated.Based on these studies, we propose the following strategies and suggestions related to:adjust dietary structure, knowledge of universal access to reasonable diet; and guide people to low-carbon consumer awareness, strengthen the concept of low-carbon consumer education; to promote low-carbon life, strengthen policy guidance. |
