Research On The Tourism Development For People With Disabilities

Tourism for persons with disabilities has gained rapid development and formed a certain scale in Europe and the United States. China's accessible tourism market is still in the early stage. China is a vast potential market because of the large number of people with disabilities. This paper summarizes the research of the barrier-free tourism achieved by scholars from home and abroad. It assesses the barrier-free environment in Fuzhou. It analysis tourism demand of people with disabilities in Fuzhou and supply market conditions. Then it puts forward some tourism market development countermeasures of Fuzhou.On the basis of theoretical study, this paper takes Fuzhou as a case, analyses tourism demand of people with disabilities and the supply situation of related products. There are many persons with disabilities in Fuzhou, but travelers with disabilities are rarely seen. Relevant statistical data and information are lacking. this article adopted the questionnaire survey method to investigate the status of tourism of persons with disabilities.The analysis of the frequency of persons with disabilities, travel motivation and destination areas presents the market demand. This paper analyses barrier-free environment of the Fuzhou attractions, hotels, urban roads and public buildings by field surveys.Pointed out the problems of products for persons with disabilities by an analysis of air, rail and other transport departments and agencies.To develop tourism for people with disabilities in Fuzhou, several measures should scan taken into account, such as improving the legal system, strengthen law enforcement management; positive publicity and enhance the confidence of people with disabilities travel; improving the accessibility of tourism facilities, improving the tourism services to people with disabilities.
