Performance Evaluation Study On Listed Companies Of Household Electrical Appliance Industry In China Based On Dea Model

With the emergence of modern enterprise management system and the separation of investors and managers, the performance evaluation on enterprise become more and more important. The results of performance evaluation can not only explain management level, but also provide a theoretical basis on strategies-making of enterprise and decision-making for government and investors. After accession to WTO, household electrical appliance enterprises in China are facing up to fierce competition in the market. In order to survive and develop in this competition, managers of enterprise must further enhance management level, and improve their competitiveness by improving performance. So, it is of great practical significance to evaluate the performance of the appliance industry.This paper reviews the development process of enterprises performance evaluation from the foreign and the domestic term. Performance evaluation methods including BSC, EVA, MVA and DEA are discussed and compared. The rationality of DEA evaluation method used in this paper is analyzed. Then the indictor system of performance evaluation on listed household appliance companies is constructed and the rationality of selecting index is analyzed. On this basis, performances of 19 listed appliance companies were evaluated. The integrated efficiency and technical efficiency of appliance companies are analyzed by DEA model from horizontal view, and improvements of DEA ineffective corporate are proposed. Meanwhile, the total factor productivity is studied in detail using Malmquist index analysis with different companies in different periods of change from vertical view. Finally, advices on improvement of performance are proposed from the term of brand and scale economy.The main contributions of this thesis are as follows:(1) the indictor system of performance evaluation on household appliance enterprise is established based on DEA method; (2) a comprehensive evaluation on household appliance enterprise is done from both horizontal and vertical view; (3) the main factors affecting on performance of household appliance enterprise are analyzed and the improvement suggestion is proposed.
