The Evolution Policies Research And Proctice Of Weifang Local Pstn Network

The development and revenues of PSTN business starts appearing stagnant and even gliding down with the day-by-day diversification of communication means and the intensification of market competition. In the new era, how to adopt the new technologies to fully take use of existing network resources and open various value-added and multi-media services to meet with user's individual requirements in order to promote market's development, rapidly increase the competition capability of the operators and create more economical benefits from existing PSTN network become an urgent task and a difficult problem to old PSTN operators.This article describes the Intelligent Network solution for Weifang PSTN, which covers how to utilize existed network resources, and shift the network construction focus of current circuit-switched network to how to provide efficient value-added services. Based on current network, by optimization of network structure, integration of resources, upgrade and transformation of node equipment, introduction of new technology and optimization of management procedures, an optimized network, open services, and intelligentized network elements will be implemented. At the same time, this article also researches and explores how to mitigate to NGN (next generation network) smoothly via Softswitch technology in the evolution and developing process of the PSTN.This article consists of four chapters.First chapter briefly introduces the current telecommunication network development, addresses the Softswitch technology as well as system architecture of NGN.Second chapter introduces current network status of Weifang PSTN in details.Third chapter explains in details the evolution policies of Weifang PSTN about two stages, the intelligentized transformation of recent network in short term and construction of NGN in long term.The fourth chapter discusses the problems in the evolution process and related solutions.
