Because of the advantages of good encapsulation, loose coupling and a high degree of integration of Web Services,more and more enterprises begin to adopt service-oriented SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) framework to meet business needs. With the increasing maturity of Web Services technology, the number of stable and easy to use Web services shared on the network is increasing. But the single Web Service can only provide limited function, so in order to make full use of the shared Web Services, it is necessary to dynamically compose share Web services to provide more powerful services to accelerate system development speed and fast to meet the user needs. As a result, it has become the research hot that how to use the Web service composition technology to accurately provide a composite service for users to meet the functional requirements.The high complexity of the automatic composition task lies in the large number of available Web services and the changing environment, which has been far more than the manual processing capability. In order to enhance the automation and intelligent level of the Web service composition application, researchers began to introduce planning methods of the artificial intelligence field into the field of Web service composition to form a new research field of service planning, which needs the support of semantics at the same time. This paper uses JSHOP2 planner, a HTN system independent of the field, so the main idea above is to translate a semantic Web service composition problem into the planning problems able to be handled for JSHOP2 in order to obtain an executable service planning sequence to achieve the automation and intelligence of service composition.This paper mainly presents a Web service composition framework based on HTN and OWL-S, and describes the functions of its components and how to work together. Specifically, the framework includes two parts: client and server side. The client includes the service discovery module, the composite module and the executive module. Besides, the paper also details the algorithm idea of how to use HTN planning to solve the problem of Web service composition.Finally, we employ the composite service about student selecting course to test the semantic Web service composition prototype system designed in the paper in order to verify the feasibility of the method. Meanwhile, we also compare the prototype system to the foreign system designed and developed in the area.
