In recent years, MC-CDMA (Multi-carrier Code Division Multiple Access) system has become a hot research in the field of communications. Considering the demands of the development of the positioning business, it is significative to research the ranging and positioning technology.This paper focuses on a supporting positioning system in the self-organizing network based on MC-CDMA system. When the positioning signals from the satellites are missing or the satellite positioning system is not useful, etc, this system can achieve the positioning function by ranging with the other nodes, and provide the services based on the location information for all the network nodes.Focusing on the high-precision ranging, the accurate positioning and building the ranging and positioning system, this paper takes an in-depth study. The main work of this paper includes:1. The ranging algorithms based on MC-CDMA systemBased on the gains and losses of the ranging algorithms, combinating with the synchronization application of the frequency-domain correlation of spreading codes in MC-CDMA system, this paper gives the spreading-codes-based ranging algorithm (SCRA) of MC-CDMA system used in the ranging and positioning system. Theoretical studies and simulation results show that the algorithm has the value of practical application and its performance is superior to other ranging algorithms.2. The positioning research based on the self-organized networkThis paper proposes the error model of the TOA (Time Of Arrival) localization algorithm in the self-organized network, and for analysis, simulates the factors which can influence the capability. The conclusion of research has proved the expected results that can guide the practical application. For the suppression of NLOS (non-line-of-sight) error, this article proposes two classification methods for the inhibition algorithm. The two methods are based on cost and based on the time of application. Under the guidance of the classification, the paper presents two applications with compositive algorithm. And the two applications are responsed to two operating modes of the ranging and positioning system, respectively. The two modes are the active and passive ranging modes.3. The ranging and positioning system design and simulation programFirst of all, the article proposes the work of the overall structure and the design flow of the ranging and positioning system program. Focusing on the design of ranging module, and it is proposed which is the corresponding error model. And then the paper designs the unit structure of positioning modular, operates the key parameters and the compositive inhibition algorithm to non-line-of-sight error. Finally, it is given a demonstration which can achieve ranging.
