| Quality education is an important program to deepen our country's education reform in new century. Cultivating Comprehensive quality talents is the education ideology and new thought in Physical education, this is based on the quality education's value and target. In 2002, the Ministry of Education issued relevant document which regulates that orienteering course will be listed in P.E. major as a main course, meanwhile, the document also investigates and analyzes the present status and problems of orienteering course, this extend the development of orienteering course to some extent. This paper takes the orienteering course opening status of 15 P.E. colleges in shaanxi province as the research object, and employs field survey, questionnaire, expert interview and comprehensive analysis means to research. The research results is following:1. Because of the traditional physical education idea, in Shaanxi P.E. faculties, orienteering course's coverage rate is lower; teacher strength is weaker, positional title is lower, but educational level is higher, this is benefit to further research; teaching system and teaching material system is not complete; orienteering match is few.2. The insufficient of leadership attention, investment and sports equipment lack, insufficient publicity, and the low-utilization of space development are the main factors that impact on the Shannxi P.E. faculties' orienteering teaching. Cooperative relations has not been established between departments and relevant groups.3. The high level athletes lacking make the orienteering level difficult improving.4. Shaannxi P.E. faculties should actively research on teaching theory and methods of orienteering to improve students awareness, skill level and organizational capacity about orienteering... |
