Language is the carrier of culture. Learning a foreign language is not just learning words and articles on the surface. Instead, it should be regarded as a cultural learning process. The ultimate purpose of learning a foreign language, therefore, is to have a real understanding of the cultural connotations and to apply them successfully in the practice of cross-cultural communication. From a linguistic point of view, to teach a language is to teach another culture and learning a language is a process of culture acquisition. Communicative competence involves not only vocabulary ability, but also the understanding and grasp of the social and cultural factors closely related to the language. In our high school English teaching, the state of cultural awareness of teachers and students is still far from satisfactory and the concept of culture teaching is lack of popularity and attention. To meet the requirements of modern education, teachers are promoted to think about how to enhance cultural education in the practice of teaching.Faced with the current situation in SEFC culture education, the author of this paper, according to her own personal practice, is making efforts to explore a road leading to the focus on culture education and cultural awareness training in language teaching; the author has tried repeatedly in the teaching practice and validated different methods, taken full advantage of the practice of curricular and extracurricular activities in the hope of finding effective strategies and methods to enhance the students cross-cultural communicative competence. It has been found that the fostering and acquisition of cultural awareness in English teaching is more conducive to students'learning and communication capabilities.
