A Study On The Leading Role Of The Socialist Core Values System In Ideological Sphere

Nowadays, China is witnessing the age of social and historical transition. Great changes have taken place in economic systems, interest arrangements and life patterns. All these changes have an increasingly intense impact on people's conventional value concept and customary mode of thinking. As China's policy of reformation and opening gets further enforced, chinese people become more open to the capitalist concept of values. It becomes difficult for them to balance between the new value concept and their old ideological and ethical standards. Some of them lose confidence in their faith in Communism. The current ideological tendencies diverse remarkably. Encounted with the unprecedented perplexity, we must be fully aware that there is an urgent need to carry out scientific research and analysis on the diverse ideological tendencies with the purpose of directing them back on the mainstream ideological track. People should be warned to stay sober, maintain political sensitivity, keep correct value judgment and resist the templation from corrupting ideas.The proposal of"Building up Socialist Core Values System"is first put forward on the sixth plenum of CPC Central Committee. According to its explicit definition, the system consists of the following parts:"the guiding ideology of Marxist, the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the patriotism-centered national spirit and the spirit of the times centering on reform and innovation, the socialist outlook on honor and disgrace."The paper makes a probe into the Socialist Core Values and comes to the conclusions. The scientific connotation and the socialist characteristies should be taken into account in the study of values system. In order to find on effective method to guild the diverse ideological tendencies on the right way, we must respect divergence and allow diversity, shift the work focus on the ideological consensus agreed by the majority of the people, push forward the innovation of the Socialist Core Values System and create the proper atmosphere which welcomes public opinions and promotes the publicity of Socialist Core Values. Besides, the establishment of a long-lasting guilding mechanism is essential. Meanwhile, the education to the young people and children about socialist values needs to be intensified. All the above suggestions can be of great help in our efforts to consolidate the dominating position of the Socialist Core Values in the realm of solialist ideology. Moreover, they are vitally significant for the building of a harmonious socialist society, a well-off society in an all-around way and for opening up new prospects for the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
