On The Gramsci's Cultural Hegemony Theory And Its Contemporary Value

In the 20s last century, Gramsci, Antonio, the Italian Communist Party leader and Marxist theorist, raised the prominent Hegemony theory on the foundation of the deeply reflection on the proletarian revolution in Europe. In Gramsci's opinion, to grab the Hegemony is the precondition to get the politics'leadership. And the effective way to grab the Hegemony is by way of positional war and based on the intellectual. Compared with the Gramsci's age, the world now has changed a lot, but all the countries has never stopped to grab the Hegemony, therefore, there is still significant meaning to study Hegemony.Starting from the Gramsci's Hegemony theory, this thesis analyses the resources of the Gramsci's Hegemony theory based on Marx, Lenin as well as other Western scholars'statements, illustrates such notions as"civil society","organic intellectual","war of position"and their relationship with the Hegemony, and then studies its value and inspiration in contemporary society.The Hegemony theory, owning the practical significance, was Gramsci's unique thinking of the society when in prison, and now has become the vital part of the World treasure trove of Marxist theory. As to China, it has signal values to dominant ideological construction. In order to get the dominant ideological leadership, it's necessary to consolidate the core of the dominant ideological, and expand it, so as to lead the healthy development of the mass culture. From the cultural safty perspective, as western cultures are permeating to us, to construct a system to protect our culture is a pragmatic approach. Besides, the Hegemony theory is helpful to study the intellectual problem in our country. It has pragmatic meaning to nurture the intellectual, to extert their functions and make them the main force to spread the dominant ideology.
