In order to improve Chinese language teaching and develop Chinese language skills as well as to promote Chinese culture to the world, this essay, based on the analysis of Chinese language learners in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, analyzes the cultural differences between mother language and target language, and focuses on the methods of culture teaching in Teaching Chinese to foreigners.Intercultural communication, the communication between people of different cultures, is mainly conducted by languages. Intercultural communication plays an important role in the development of society.Laying much emphasis on languages but little on cultures in teaching Chinese hinders the foreign student's good understanding of Chinese culture, and obstructs intercultural communication and cultural blending. Therefore, Chinese language teachers, in Chinese language teaching, should combine Chinese culture with Chinese language, and develop the foreign student's intercultural communication skills. Chinese language teachers should integrate culture into language teaching by taking some cultural teaching methods including vocabulary, grammar and pragmatics.Chinese language teachers should also take learner's characteristics and learning strategies into consideration, and bring their initiatives and talents into full play. |
