| The Seventeen Years literature, the focus of the present study, has been regarded as a unique period in history with distinctive stamp of time and literal conspiracy, features bestowed on the female writers by the political context. This study is either a documentary survey or a reexamination of the novels in the period. Feminism, gender narration and comparison are adopted to explore the traits and commonalities of the female writers in the Period, a period starting from 1949, the founding year of the country, to 1966, the year before the Cultural Revolution, and to differentiate them from the female writers in May Fourth Period and those in the 1980s and 1990s, and from the male writers of the same period. Importance is attached to the exploration of the artistic charm and value of the female creation from the angles of identity, politics, time traits and art exploration. |
