Objective :To investigate the predisposing alleles of HLA - DRB1 genes in Juvenile idiopathic arthritis.Methods :Polymerase chain reaction - specific sequence primers (PCR - SSP) method was used to type HLA -DRB1 subregion in 94 cases of patients with Juvenile idiopathic arthritis and matched control subjects of Han nationality in south Chinese.Results :The frequency of HLA-DRB1*08(p<0.05)allele in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis was significantly higher than that in controls,and the frequency of HLA-DRB1*12 ( p<0.05 ) allele was significantly lower than that in controls.According to the diffenrent JIA isoforms,We found that in systemic onset JIA subse(tp<0.05)and polyarthritis JIA subse(tp<0.05),the allete HLA-DRB1*08 were expressed most commonly,In systemic onset JIA subset(p<0.05) and oligoarthritis JIA subse(tp<0.05),the allele HLA-DRB1*15 was expressed lower frenquent than the control,however,in systemic onset JIA the allete HLA-DRB1*13(p<0.05) was expressed higher frenquent than the control . Conclusion:HLA-DRB1*08 may be the susceptible alleles of juvenile idiopathic arthritis in south Chinese,HLA-DRB1*12 may be the protective alleles of juvenile idiopathic arthritis in south Chinese. The HLA-DRB1*08 is the susceptible alleles in systemic onset JIA and polyarthrits JIA.HLA-DRB1*13 is aslothe susceptible alleles in systemic onset JIA,HLA-DRB1*15 is the protective alleles in systemic onset JIA and oligoarthritis JIA.
