Objective: Chronic airway inflammation and the formation of the lungs in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) pathogenesis an important role. Inflammatory cytokines IL--17 (IL-17), in neutrophil mobilization and activation play a powerful role of chemokines involved in the process of airway inflammation. Plasma soluble intercellular adhesion molecule -1 (sICAM-1) the level of airway inflammation in COPD reflects the severity of the plasma level of sICAM-1 may determine the control of airway inflammation in the situation. In this study, patients with COPD by measuring and control groups in plasma IL-17, sICAM-1 level and peripheral blood leukocytes accounted for the percentage of neutrophils (Neu / Leu%) and to analyze its relevance, the preliminary study the IL-17 and sICAM-1 and the relationship between COPD.Method: 1. the experimental study of 30 cases of COPD patients (acute exacerbation and stable period), 25 cases of normal control group, measured lung function and blood cell analysis; 2. all selected objects collected peripheral venous blood were centrifuged and separated from cryopreservation, plasma IL-17 and sICAM-1 was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results: 1.COPD patients with acute exacerbation of plasma IL-17 concentration (202.56±68.52pg/mL) was significantly higher than the concentration of the stabilization period (160.56±53.53 pg / mL), were significantly different (P <0.01); acute exacerbation of COPD and patients with stable plasma concentration of IL-17 was significantly higher than the concentration of the control group (68.12±12.41pg/mL), the difference was significant (P <0.01). 2. COPD patients with acute exacerbation of plasma sICAM-1 concentrations (255.78±141.50ng / L) was significantly higher than the concentration of the stabilization period (170.68±97.70ng / L), were significantly different (P <0.01); COPD with acute increase the duration and stability of plasma in patients with sICAM-1 concentration was significantly higher than the concentration of the control group (56.62±18.01ng/mL), the difference was significant (P <0.01). 3.COPD peripheral blood of patients with acute exacerbation of Neu / Leu% of the value (73.10±14.11%) was significantly higher than the value (57.73±3.62%), were significantly different (P <0.01). 4. COPD patients with acute exacerbation of IL-17 and sICAM-1 and Neu / Leu% average increase in the water. Acute exacerbation of COPD and patients with stable plasma IL-17 and plasma sICAM-1 was positively correlated (r = 0.981, P <0.01; r = 0.664, P <0.01); COPD patients with acute exacerbation of plasma IL - 17 with peripheral blood Neu / Leu% was positively correlated (r = 0.824, P <0.01); COPD patients with acute exacerbation of plasma sICAM-1 and peripheral blood of Neu / Leu% was positively correlated (r = 0.827, P <0.01). 5. COPD and acute exacerbation in patients with stable plasma IL-17 and lung function FEV1% was no correlation (r = 0.027, P> 0.05; r =- 0.053; P> 0.05); COPD and acute exacerbation in patients with stable sICAM-1 in plasma and lung function FEV1% was no correlation (r =- 0.002, P> 0.05; r = 0.096; P> 0.05).Conclusion:1.COPD acute exacerbation and stable period of plasma IL-17, sICAM-1 levels significantly higher than the control group, and acute exacerbation of COPD significantly increased relatively stable, suggesting that IL-17, sICAM-involved in the pathogenesis of COPD, may be caused by pulmonary inflammatory cell infiltration and lung damage in real terms in one of the main reasons, and IL-17, sICAM-1 levels may be related to the severity of COPD was positively correlated.2.COPD acute exacerbation of peripheral blood of Neu / Leu% significantly higher than the level, suggesting that COPD patients with significant systemic effects, may lead to abnormal lung infiltration of inflammatory cells, in the exercise of its function in immune defense at the same time lead to immune injury. 3.COPD patients with acute exacerbation and stable period of plasma sICAM-1 concentration with IL-17 was positively correlated, suggesting that IL-17 secretion through induction of lymphocyte sICAM-1 channels, in the activation of neutrophils and to raise to participate in the inflammatory process of COPD.
