Objective: To observe the clinica l effects of Lipo-PGE1 in cardiopulmulna rybypass .Methods: 32 patients who underwent cardiac valve replacement wererandomized into two groups: Lipo-PGE1 group(group B;n=16) received Lipo-PGE1in cardioplegia solution, control group(group A;n=16) did not receive Lipo-PGE1.Blood samples were taken to determine the serum concentrations of CK-MB and cTn-I before cardiopulmonary bypass, 2h,6h and 16h after aortic decla mp. Arrest time, spontaneous resuscitation rate, the requirement for inotropics and intubation time werealso evaluated. Results: The requirement for inotropics in group B was significa ntly lesser tha nthat in group A ;The levels of cTn-I at 6h and 16h and CK-MB at 6h after aorticdecla mp were significa ntly lower in group B tha n those in group A.Conclution: Antegrade intermittent blood cardioplegia with Lipo-PGE1 showseffective myocardial protection in cardiopulmulna ry bypass.
