DREB2 transcription factors are involved in drought stress responsive mechanism, which can bind specificity cis-element of DRE. DREB2 play a key role in regulating stress. Researches have proved that DREB2 transcription factors exist in all kinds of plants, such as Arabidopsis, rice, barley, wheat and maize et al., and regulate many down-stream functional genes expression which can increase plants capacity of drought stress. In this paper, with the information of TaDREB2 gene (DQ353852), 13 hexaploid wheat cultivars with background of different drought resistance are used to study the expression patterns for screening natural variation of this gene .They are treated under drought stress at anthesis. This method can provide drought resistance candidate genes of wheat. There is important significance for study drought resistance mechanism and genetic improvement of dought resistance of wheat. In this paper, different wheat varieties is analysed for SNP which will be associated with drought resistance traits.1. Expression patterns of TaDREB2 under various stress conditions. Hanxun10 was treated by drought, salt, cold and ABA. Real-time PCR showed that TaDREB2 was greatly induced by drought, cold and salt, but not by ABA.2. Expression diversity of TaDREB2 of 13 wheat cultivars with different drought resistance. Real-time PCR showed that the leaves and grains of the 6 wheat cultivars of 10 drought resistance varieties expression were up regulated. The others including 3 non drought resistance cultivars are showed down regulated.3. Primers were designed to be sub-genome specific using Chinese Spring (CS) nulli-somic/tetra-somic lines to localize TaDREB2. As a result, except N3DT3B, all other templates generated binds with the same size, indicating that TaDREB2 was on chromosome 3D.4. One SNP was discovered in the D genomes among 21 wheat varieties. This SNP was in coding regions and leads to arginase changing as lysine. This SNP was not in the AP2 domain region.
